Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune
Costume Design
Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune centers around human vulnerability. IT may be these characters last chance to connect, but they have significant barriers between each other. In the show, music and moonlight strip away these barriers. Music (thus the title in the Clair de Lune) and moonlight, which inspired color palette. The blues are a reaction to the moonlight while the whites, grays, and earth tones represent the barriers that have been stripped away (literally and figuratively). Note the clothing strewn about the floor; this was a show that we designer βin reverse,β imagining the clothing that Frankie and Johnny wore to work, their date, and beforehand.
